Two Brothers and Woody From Toy Story

Ahhh, Woody. What would we do without you?

When I arrived for this session, I was informed that the 2 year old boy and Woody were inseparable, especially given that Woody was a recent gift. I wasn’t sure how that would play out, but the 2 year old agreed to having Woody ‘watch him play’. I did, however, test my lighting with Woody, who did his job perfectly, pretending he was simply just a toy :-), as you can see in the first image. Although older brother took a little while to warm up (and, okay, told me to go home, eventually) – he did come to the table and we got some great shots. Baby brother was patient through it all and gave me some very sweet smiles.

The Comfort of Bunnies and Blankies

I love being a witness to the calm and serenity that is visible in young children when they hold onto their favorite toy or blanket. These two images demonstrate that perfectly. Thanks to everyone involved for their cooperation – and especially to the older sibling for her patience and assistance.

Those Arresting Eyes

Wow. This little princess had the biggest and brightest eyes I have seen in a while. She was full of happiness and I could tell at every step of the way that she felt very loved and secure in her world. Thanks to all involved for making it all work and for rounding out the whole experience. It was a terrific morning :-).

A Little Sleep Goes A Long Way

This little tyke required a follow-up to the first session, as he had originally decided a nap was not necessary :-). Alas, with the help of a sleep doula, this little man was very well rested for our second session. As you can see from the image below, he was happy to cooperate. Thanks to Mom and Dad for a great session on that very rainy day.

It All Changed When The Cat Came On Board

This sweet little 10 month old was very serious when I first arrived – keeping a constant and watchful eye on me, as can be seen in the first photograph. I didn’t mind, however, since ‘serious and soulful’ works fine for me as well. We moved into the bedroom, however, where discussion of a particular cat came up. I asked where the cat was and soon enough the said cat was located (much to his dismay perhaps) – and sheer joy and happiness burst forth from this little gal. The second picture says it all. Thanks to the family for a terrific morning!

Lucky Little Man

The first photograph below will help to explain the title of this blog post :-).

I have seen these kids get bigger, older, and wiser since I first photographed the oldest child several years ago. This session, however, was mostly about the newest addition to their family – a baby brother. Thanks to this wonderful family who have trusted me over the years to capture their exquisite children. It is truly an honour.

Little Boys and Lollipops

Okay… so if you’re looking for images with lollipops here, you won’t find them. I will tell you, however, that a lollipop was used towards the end of this session as a bit of a bribe for the younger lad (a ring pop, actually – and with some success I might add). Yes, it’s true. Bribes are necessary in this profession at the best of times :-). These two brothers were delightful and both did a great job of making it all work. Thanks to Mom for her patience through it all.

I love this family. I have been with them since their first child was born and have photographed them almost every year until now. These kids have beautiful and, yes, very energetic spirits. I could have shown 3 smiling pictures for the individual shots (because these three are very happy kids) but instead I thought I’d show their more serious sides. I did, however, throw in one of the two girls letting their sparkly and animated little souls shine through. Enjoy!

Love and Chaos

What a busy session this was! These two little monkeys kept me entertained and busy – both indoors and out. Towards the end of the session, their cousins joined them and more chaos ensued :-). In all of that, however, we managed to get some great shots. Thanks for a great morning – and congratulations to the little man below for being so patient in waiting for his promised surprise at the end of the session :-).
